BOREY VENG SRENG

Borey Veng Sreng in Cambodia’s Phnom Penh is an affordable housing precinct of 150 Shophouses and Townhouses.

The project commenced in October 2019 and is currently under construction, with the completion likely to be in November 2020.

The brief was extremely complex due to the minimal construction budget of USD$200/m2. We were able to improve the yield from an initial 95 units to a total of 150 units, whilst maintaining public space and streets.

This is an exciting project for me personally as the short time period and tight budget are incredible lessons as I manage the site to ensure the local builders are building the project according to the drawings, which is often difficult to manage in Phnom Penh. Unskilled labor and a site workforce of over 200 laborers add to the complexities.
