RIVERVIEW VILLA

The project brief called for a family home on the Tonle Sap River, with views projected north over the water.

A 4 bedroom house, the design proposal looked at maximising the opportunities of the site. Large windows opening to the river with terraces optimise the views, whilst a roof canopy wraps the form, providing protection from the harsh Cambodian sun and screening the roof terrace.

Large open plan interiors flow through from one side of the house to the next, creating a feeling of natural connections with the views, nature and natural lighting.

Landscaping around the house has been designed to create a feeling of discretion and intimacy. Views from the neighbours and the public road are blocked by strategic landscaping.

A gym and BBQ area near the river are discretely hidden from the main house, with garden paths creating a journey to the outbuildings.
